Danny Earles is a sprinter from Conception Bay South, NL, whose meteoric rise began only after a coach coaxed him into his first track meet during his final year of high school—he showed up in basketball shorts, won the 100 m and 200 m, and never looked back. Now a standout at Trinity Western University, Danny has powered his way to the top of the U SPORTS rankings with a blistering 21.47 s 200m at the Whitworth Invitational and has driven his 400m best down to 47.83s, performances that earned multiple Athlete-of-the-Week honours. Danny joined Lightsteel back in the spring of 2025, and he leads our speed and strength programs, and offers private and semi-private training for Lightsteel athletes. His firsthand understanding of rapid speed development—going from late starter to national-class sprinter in just a few seasons—allows him to teach athletes how to generate explosive power, refine mechanics, and translate track-level acceleration and speed directly to on-ice performance.
